If you’ve found your way here, I want you to know this first: you are welcome. Maddi’s Corner was created as a place of rest—for the weary, the grieving, the doubting, the hopeful, and the faithful who are simply tired. This space exists for those who love God deeply and those who are still trying to understand Him through pain. My daughter, Maddi, is the heart behind this corner. She carried a gentle spirit and a tender heart, even through seasons that were unimaginably hard. Her life—and her loss—changed me forever. Out of that grief, God began to whisper something unexpected: Create a place where others feel safe, seen, and loved. This blog is that place. Why “Rest for the Weary”? Scripture tells us: “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 There are seasons in life where rest feels impossible. Grief keeps you awake. Fear sits heavy on your chest. Faith feels fragile. You pray, but the answers feel quiet—or absent. Rest for the Weary is not about having it all together. It’s about coming as you are. It’s about laying your burdens down, even when your hands are shaking. It’s about trusting that God meets us in the mess, not after it’s cleaned up. What You’ll Find Here At Maddi’s Corner, you’ll find: • Faith reflections rooted in real life, not perfection • Honest conversations about grief, loss, and healing • Scripture for those who feel broken but still believe • Encouragement for caregivers, parents, and grandparents • Reminders that God’s love does not leave us in our darkest valleys Some posts will be gentle. Others may be raw. All of them will be written with truth, compassion, and hope. A Personal Note to the Reader If you are walking through grief, I see you. If your faith feels shaken, you are not alone. If you are holding joy and sorrow at the same time, there is room for both here. My prayer is that when you leave Maddi’s Corner—whether after one post or many—you feel just a little lighter. A little less alone. A little more held. This corner is for you. Welcome to Rest for the Weary.
Welcome home.
